Code of Conduct
Masters (Instructors) serve several important roles, including teacher (Master), role model, mentor, guardian, and trainer. Good masters provide practitioners with positive experiences in sports participation and help nurture sportsmanship. To ensure the quality of masters, the Korean Hapkido Federation has formulated a Code of Conduct for masters (Instructors) to follow:
- Treat each athlete as an individual and help him/her reach their full potential.
- Promote fair play and show respect for other teams. Accept both the guidelines and the spirit of the rules that define and govern the sport.
- Stay updated with the latest coaching techniques and seek continual improvement.
- Provide a safe environment by ensuring that equipment and facilities are safe.
- Ensure that training and competition are suitable for the age and fitness level of the practitioners.
- Inform practitioners about the benefits of sports and encourage them to participate in sports (martial arts) throughout their lives.
- Avoid overtraining practitioners. Maintain their interest and promote enthusiasm for sports (martial arts).
- Always lead by example and refrain from using foul language.
- Avoid any form of harassment towards your athletes, including harassment based on sex, race, or disability.
